Speyside boasts a diverse range of landscapes, from mountains and forests to rivers, lochs, and beaches.

The Speyside Way is a well-known path that runs along the River Spey's banks for much of Moray's county. People love walking and cycling along this trail, making it one of Scotland's top trails.

River Spey Aberlour Scotland

Morayshire's Historic Industries

The river Spey is famous for its fast flow and stretches 170km/107 miles from Loch Spey into the Moray Firth. The river is well-known for its salmon and trout fishing and is also crucial to the farming and distilling industries in the area.

Moreover, the Spey's banks are home to over 50 distilleries, making it the largest whisky-producing region in Scotland. With such a concentration of distilleries in an area of 2238 square kilometres or 865 square miles, you'll have plenty of options to choose from.

CGM Scotland Tour Reviews

Had a wonderful time exploring the fantastic Dunrobin Castle and gardens. Seeing the birds of prey show is a must. Topped off with trip to my favourite whisky distillery Glenmorangie. I will definitely come back.
The Palmers, Oldham
My wife and I had a wonderful 3 days touring Scotland with Chris in early July. His local knowledge was very entertaining as we toured several castles, less known distilleries, local lunch spots and scenic drives.
S. Schokmiller
Loved visiting the smaller distilleries and trying new whiskies. Glenallachie 15 was my favourite.
Craig Baxter, Ayr
My husband and I had a wonderful time on our 3 day private tour of the highlands and lowlands of Scotland with Chris this past June. He was very entertaining and informative about all the areas Scotland with interesting stories about history, folklore, and current events as well. He took us to some hidden gems which we highly appreciated as it was our first trip to Scotland and it made us feel special. He had great knowledge of whisky and knew all the great stops for tastings along the way. We had great fun and would highly recommend him!
